Anyone know what part number the trim piece around the hitch receiver is?

If you got rear ended why are you even lifting a finger. The other party's insurance should be taking care of everything. Or your insurance

I didn’t know what it was called, so I was looking for a diagram and couldn’t find it on any parts listings. Not doing anyone’s job, but it looks like a common piece to be damaged hooking up trailers etc.. and I assume that’s why it’s a separate piece of the bumper assembly.

This is the time to get that aftermarket bumper for a discount.

Like maybe the other party was in the family? Or “rear ended” means they backed into something. Or they damaged it hooking up a trailer since they seem to think that’s common. Been hooking up trailers for a couple decades and never hit that spot on any vehicle. Father’s been doing it for half a century and never accidentally hit that spot. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen anyone hit that part of the bumper so I don’t think it’s as common as OP thinks

Backing up and hitting something is very different from getting rear ended.

Thanks for the art number… I’m looking for the plastic bumper insert that goes around the receiver.

The other responses are hilarious, no I didn’t back into anything a Nissan pathfinder slid into me at a stop sign while my wife and I were taking the dogs to the park.

Again...I don't understand why you're looking for anything.

The only thing you should be looking for is the phone number to your insurance agent and they will take care of anything. You might even be lucky enough to get a car rental while your truck is in the shop.
Is this your first time in an accident?

Maybe the other person just wants to pay for it and keep it off the insurance. Insurance companies can hold this sort of thing over your head for years.

Because Carfax sucks, especially in cases of surficial damage to trim pieces. Gives potential future buyer leverage you don’t want them to have.

How about posting pictures damages sustained by your T4R... so members can suggest the correct part numbers

That’s the thing… zero damage other than a crack in the trim piece and a few scratches, which I can’t understand how nothing else is broken. I’ll get picture later and post it. Truck goes into the shop Monday, I don’t care much about the car fax as was suggested, I plan to keep this for as long as I can, I was just trying to save myself some hassle and not sponge off the insurance system.

Dont worry, they wont let you sponge off them until you pay your policy, and then pay your deductible, followed by a policy rate increase for the next 5 years. They can and do take care of themselves lol.

it’s good then shop has it, are they gonna inspect for frame damage on that crossmember? Probably no damage to it, but frame damage is oddly inconsistent. Sometimes hits do no damage, other times the hit is just so and it bends somethkng
