I see very few SAS 5th gens. Wish I had the skills. Not really feasible due to cost to pay a shop. Guessing this would be like a $20k project having a shop do it.

Meh. It never really caught my eye on anything since high speed stuff is more fun for me. I'd get a Jeep for the slow stuff.

The solid axle and easier ability to lift/bigger tires is only reason I have considered a jeep. Reliability is the reason I can't talk myself into jeep. Closer to going after an old land cruiser with solid axle and being able to LS1 swap it. But that's close to or more than a new truck.

So I live with the IFS.

Love this guys build. LS1 swap on 37s

Might as well just buy an 80 series Land Cruiser. Or, a dirt cheap Land Rover Disco, and do the LS swap. Or, just buy an old Jeep XJ/Wrangler TJ and learn how to work on it. Or, why do you want an SAS-swapped 4Runner?

I’d say way north of 20k for a shop. Maybe if you already had sourced all the parts, then an additional 20k would put a good dent in labor.
