Fuses in unused slots.

Probably silly question but auto electrical isn't my bag. Looking at the inside fuses box in our 2019, there are fuses in spots for options that the truck doesn't have (sunroof,KDSS for example). I would have expected those to be empty. Is that odd or are they maybe used for other circuits?

 

Also not an electrical guy, but I assume the fuses are there for the same reason wiring harnesses exist for options you don't have, simplicity of manufacturing.

I bet it's way easier to throw a 5 cent fuse into every slot in a fuse box than à la carte and pick and choose what fuses go where with what features. If all the necessary fuses are there, it works for every vehicle.

 

They might be in there as spares.

 

They would only be used the intended circuits unless you purchased used and the previous owner did something. Fuses are so cheap they just slap them in there.
