New member here. Glad to be part of this 4runner community. My wife recently turned in a 2018 leased 2wd 4runner. It had a 2 inch leveling kit installed. She bought a 2020 sr5 4x4 4runner. It had about 250 miles on it when I took it to the same shop for the same 2 inch leveling kit to be installed. It has about 900 miles on it currently. For about a week or so I've noticed a creaking noise when I back out of our driveway. I also hear it when applying the brakes at low speeds. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome, Blacksr5! What type of levelling kit did you use? Sometimes after market parts that use polyurethane bushings squeak if not religiously lubricated, but if that is not your case, take back it to the dealer and they’ll trouble shoot it under warranty.

Hello and thank you. The shop I took it to fabricates their own leveling kits. Its a reputable shop thats been around for years. I want to say I might have heard the noise before the leveling kit was installed , but I cant be sure.

Same thing happened to me. Shop didn't line up the stock skid plates and sometimes would creak going over the curb. I found it because the plates were touching and starting to wear at that spot. Loosened all the bolts and was easy to shift the skid and tighten back up

Hey Blacksr5! My 2020 SR5 has just started making a similar creaking noise, ever figure out what it was?

Hi DaisyTook. I did get it figured out. It ended up being that the tire shop that performed the alignment after the leveling kit was installed didn't torque it back up to factory specs. I took it back in and they torqued it properly. Noise is gone ! I hope this helps you

BlackSr5 do you know exactly what they torqued? I had a Westcott design leveling kit installed and now ever time I brake or turn slowly I hear a creaking noise.
