so every time I go anywhere and I get out and look at my front bumper the corners are popped out, now I’ve never had the bumper off or made any type of adjustments on it but this is driving me crazy that it keeps popping out? Does anyone have a solution or ideas how to correct this! I’m able to push them back in and hear it click but it doesn’t hold ? Maybe warranty issue ? It’s both sides as well FYI..

I posted pics of the corners where it’s popping out, there’s no marks or scratches or any on the bumper anyplace from that idea .? Is there another area that needs to be pushed into place to keep these areas from coming out ?

I would go out to the parking lot and look at mine but of course I didn't drive it today...figures. Hopefully someone can pop in and look at theirs for comparison for you.

I remember someone on here with the same problem, i think they got the clips replaced at the dealer and that took care of it.

Take it to the dealer. To me that’s a warranty issue

This is a known issue. My 2018 Limited does this. Some have gone to the dealer and had luck with a fix. Others have not. I have learned to live with it.

Same issue here. Figure I’ll just go with an ARB sooner or later.

My new 2019 is doing it on the drivers side. I will mention it to the dealer when I hit first service....Why don't they fix these things if they know about it?

Mine does it too. I basically don't care, it's pretty insignificant really. However, if it bothers you, there's a thread over on t4r that basically explains that the issue is the metal supports that the bracket clips go into need to be slightly realigned, which is done by bending them outward. It's going to involve pulling off the bumper skin and then fiddling around with the clip mounts a few times before you can get it dialed in. Then of course the first time somebody taps your bumper in a parking lot it's going to go back to the way it was.

Yeah, you may be right....Don't like the idea of dealer guys taking the bumper cover off and making it worse. I push it in sometimes when I walk by...but yeah, not a big deal as long as it never gets worse. I have fight my OCD sometimes...LOL

Does anyone with this issue have 2-1 LED headlights that were installed prior to purchase? I have had a 2015 and a 2018, and I never had this issue. It drives me nuts! These cars cost too much for this nonsense.

I ended up using JB weld plastic putty and applied to the two little nubs that are supposed to attach to the plastic supports on both sides it’s not completely flush like it should be, but it’s way better than previous, I also bought new bumper support brackets , like this https://www.ebay.com/i/143307148715...MI9rjx2MXH5AIVCNlkCh3P0wFYEAQYHCABEgLtl_D_BwE and that still did nothing to help, the bumper it self I think is the main issue in these as the little tabs are just not long enough to hold onto the brackets... so far mine have been holding strong..

Is this on a 2019? If so why not just take it to the dealer so they can fix it under warranty?

My 2016 does not do this.

Under warranty take it back and make them fix it if they say they can't or won't for whatever reason tell the service advisor and/or manager you want the name and email information for that dealerships area rep or insist on a name/number to call into Toyota. If they say their isn't such person their full of $hit. You make enough noise they'll correct it.

2019 Limited here. Manufactured 11/2018 purchased in March of this year. 7500 miles so far and just this week noticed same on mine of drivers side front corner only so far. Passenger side is good and secure. Can click the corner back in only to have it pop out again after driving or after the vehicle sits in the sun. As if the heat causes it to expand and give way. Next maintenance visit to dealer around November. Not going to make a 40 min trip to dealer just for this issue alone but will have it addressed then. Irritating for a $45k vehicle have this issue. Have read multiple posts from people who have experienced same issue. 2013’s and up. Some say Toyota is aware and admits of fault while others say they deny knowledge or issue. I’m about to find out myself.

I took mine back to the dealership, and I was told that it would have to go to a body shop... I’m almost afraid of the damage that would come from that. I have contacted Toyota and started a claim... the service department treated me like I was an idiot... I was told I would have to contact a lawyer to start a claim. I hope others have better experiences :(

That may make some sense. I don't think it has been cold in Texas since I bought it 18 months ago.

This is an interesting thread for me. The Mrs and I just bought a 2018 former rental SR5 and the bumper is pooched out a little on both sides. I can see a mar in the paint where it may have bumped something. I figured I'll attend to it when I put a trans cooler in it, most likely next Spring as I'm running out of good wrenching weather soon.

my 2017 has a "pucker" (separation) at the same location; I would believe a clip has failed. Were you to repair it please post.

My 2018 limited 4Runner has the same issue with the bumper cover. I’m sorry I even let the dealership try to repair it. It’s worse than before and now the paint doesn’t even match. Representative from Southeast Toyota talked me into giving them another chance to fix it and after agreeing now he says he’s been told there is no fix and even the 2020’s have the same issue.
