Fresh paint peels when I clear coat

    [​IMG] I have a strange problem. I painted the center console trim pieces on my 4th gen and as soon as I hit them with clear coat, it was like the clear coat was paint remover. The paint immediately started peeling. I used Rust-oleum Universal Metallic carbon mist for the paint. I let the pieces cure for 48+ hours. The clearcoat I used is, Rust-oleum Painters Touch, 2X Ultracover Gloss Clear. What do you think happened?

    I would say that the 2 were not compatible. You definitely let it dry long enough.

    I wonder if I should use the Rust-oleum Universal Advanced Formula Clear Durable Topcoat on the Rust-Oleum Universal Advanced Formula Metallic Paint and Primer Carbon Mist
