Frame

I’m looking at a 2002 4Runner sr5 sport edition very clean inside & out & very little rust little spots here & there some on the suspension but that’s no biggie until I came across this black goo stuff looks like bondo or jb weld not sure can anyone tell me if this is a big red flag should I be worried the guy at the dealer says it’s a Solid rig with no frame issues

Wow, that seems like a lot of money for 2002. I mistakenly looked at the 2011 forerunner for a few thousand dollars more that seems like a much better ride.

It appears something was repaired or trying to be hidden.

 

Im putting money on JB Weld. I would turn around and run!!!

 

Looking at the link and all the pictures. I'd not run just yet. The car is in overall very good shape. Frame looks perfect, so not sure why this one spot required attention.

 

Look up vehichistory for wreck or odd welds. If it has new welds ask someone to see if it was done rt. Check alignment if it is a repair.

 

RUN AWAY from this.

 

I just find it odd for anyone to consider an old vehicle from a dealership at all, especially those used car lots.

 

that don't look good at all, the location is a weld line area that is prone to rust so it must have rotted out there and they are attempting to cover it up, So it should make you wonder what else? those are red flag indications of pass this one.

 

AMEN...warning flags, indeed...avoid this vehicle....is my advice.
