What do folks think of these racks? My wife finally noticed that rooftop tents are a thing (I'd pointed this out to her before lol!) and so am thinking about getting a real roof rack.

Everyone I’ve talked to says they love em. I personally like the fact that it’s pretty low profile so I can still fit in the garage with a 2” lift.

imho... the Prinsu, Sherpa and SSO are the best looking with the SSO being the best looking of the 3, but the SSO is WAY to expensive for me so I'm probably going w/Prinsu.

Make sure to post pictures once installed. I am considering the prinsu or the sherpa rack myself

I recently installed the Sherpa myself. Super easy, looks spectacular. And if I can grandstand for a sec, for those who also do lots of review reading and watching, for every missing parts issue and misalignment complaint I've ever read on the Prinsu rack, I've seen none of that for Sherpa.

I can grab a couple pics when I get home from work. As for shipping times, it took a exactly two months to the day for me to put my order in and receive the box on my doorstep, and that includes them verifying info on my behalf. (I mistakenly requested unpainted aluminum lightbar mounts instead of blacked out like the rack itself.)
*Edited for proper timeframe to ship

Got a couple shots, and a close up of one of the legs and 1x2 extruded arms.

I just thought it followed the lines of the 4runner most best of all of them.

That looks awesome! Full height option for no led bar right?
I am really leaning towards sherpa. Glad to hear it took only about a month, when did you order?

Actually that is the half height version for a light bar. You can sort of tell from the front view that you can actually see the whole first crossmember, the full version you wouldn’t be able to.
And actually I apologize I misread my own order…ordered mid May, and got it exactly mid July. (8 weeks, but better than Gobi ay)

iamincrediboy, in your first pic (front view) it appears the wind deflector hangs slightly over the edge of the windshield seam on both edges. Is this correct or is it just a bad angle?

    Thank you!

By the way if you put the @ symbol in front of someones name it'll send a notification. Just helps to get responses quickly.

But good eye. Yes, you're correct the deflector hangs down a bit on the edges. I have slid the whole thing all the way down in its channel so that the center is making contact with my roof, eliminating the hum/whistle that many with these stye racks will know. Please dont that be the deciding factor in which one to get, every single rack suffers from it to varying degrees, even OEM. Now best deflector placement is debatable, but this works for me, and it gives ample 'room' at the top edge for the light from my lightbar to shine past (when I install it of course, it doesnt do much on my garage floor)

Yikes. Glad I haven't ordered anything yet.

Looking at their website and install video, the Sherpa seems great. I like how the mounting blocks completely seal the bolt area and don't extend at all past the channel and over the roof. Even the Southern Style seems to have part of the problem @Agent_Outside identified with the Prinsu. It's got those pretty lengthy tabs that extend over the roof, with slots that can let water into the bolt area. At least that's how it looks from his posts in the link above.

@Singleminded Are you referring to the trim piece in the weather channel? So the Sherpa mounts sit on large pieces of pretty solid rubber, which seal out the water pretty damn well. Also, the top mounting bolts have rubber on the underside of the washer (you can just see in the picture I took). If you want to go the extra mile you can use some silicone sealant, but the instructions say it isnt needed. However if your concern is that the weather stripping in the channel butts up against the mounting foot, I'll tell you right now that not all of them do. One or two of mine definitely have some space between the rubber edge and the weather stripping, maybe up to an inch.. I don't personally mind, but wanted to clarify for you.

Right, that's what I was trying to say. It seems the Sherpa's mounting blocks are really good at covering the holes in the roof, and the area around those holes, that you bolt the rack to. It looks like a really elegant design, big enough and shaped right to snuggly cover the holes and at least most of the bare area in the weather stripping channel, with nothing extra sticking out over the roof. Looks very thoughtfully designed. Though again I'm just going by the pics and the install video on the Sherpa website.

In any case, good tip about the poss of a gap between the end of the existing weather stripping and these rubber mounting blocks. That seems like a relatively small concern, but still good to know!

Got around to installing the Prinsu. Overall very pleased. Install was straightforward. Sealed mounting holes with silicone, and used a stronger double sided tape that what was provided for the front mounting foots. Had some good rain the last couple days and no issues. Quality looks good IMO, and it’s very sturdy.

Complete regerts on the Prinsu rack. The way to mount the rack with the mounting feet provided is a garbage solution. Wish we would have done better research on racks before buying the Prinsu. We ended up getting mounting feet from RA Motorsports and using them instead. The RA Motorsport mounting feet are awesome and work great. They give good peace of mind for not worrying about a potential leaks.
