Fog light issues

So both my factory fog lights stopped working on my 2017 SR5. The bulbs are good, the fuse is good. I can't find the relay if there is one. In the hood fuse/Relay box cover there is nothing that specifically says "Fog lights" except the multifunction Alt fuse, which seems to be working. Does anyone know where the fog light relay is or where do I go from here?

 

Do you have a multimeter to check for voltage at the light?

 

Yes, I'll start there tonight.

 

Much to my surprise I did get a voltage reading when I tested at the light socket. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that can only mean the light itself is bad, even though it looks fine? I had my wife turn the switch on and off and the meter reacted accordingly.

 

Power is only half of the circuit. Did it have ground?

 

How do I check that?

 

Did you ever get an answer on this or figure it out? My 2016 4Runner same, new bulbs, replaced fuse even though it looked fine, still nothing.

 

you could use a continuity tester,
remove the wiring from back of fog light,
identify the power wire, attach the clip on the circuit tester to the power side of the wiring harness that attaches to fog light,
use the probe to touch the ground side of the fog light wiring harness,
turn on the power...

if it lights up, you have ground to the bulb
