HI GUYS, JUST ORDERED SOME FLUID FILM FOR THE FRAME. LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST WHERE WE GET PLENTY OF SALT IN THE WINTER. DOES IT MAKE MORE SENSE TO WAIT AND APPLY JUST BEFORE WINTER, OR IS ANYTIME OF THE YEAR OK? WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO? THANKS FOR THE HELP.

I just did Woolwax on mine last week. It's still practically fresh off the lot, and I figured it was never going to be cleaner or more rust-free than right now. I asked the dealer if he was busier just before winter, and he said his busy times came on and off throughout the year.

I like to wait until early to mid Autumn for several reasons. If you take it off road your likely going to scratch and bash some of your undercoat paint, waiting until the end of the season gives you a chance to repair all that damage before you apply fluid film. Doing it in Autumn also means you'll have a fresh coat of fluid film going into winter. Where I live Autumn is still bearable in terms of weather, important since I don't have a cozy garage to work in.

You can do it whenever, but I prefer to do it closer to winter

Now. Most imporyant inside frame, in every opening and crevice, with skids removed, spare tire out, inside doors thru drains, than externall surface of everything at the bottom. check before winter.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I'd do it in September or something. Do it before it gets too cold so you can take your shirt off* so you'll have one less thing to wash later. I like to lay down cardboard so I don't cut up my back.

*If you're a dude, OK. If you're a chick, pics or it didn't happen.

Fluid film done a few times. Going to wool wax on the new 4runner sometime in the fall.
