Im looking to get some flood ditch lights for off-roading purposes. I was set on getting the Diode SS3 Max Floods but Ive been seeing a lot of people prefer Baja for offroading. What do you guys think?

I have Rigid Dually-SS in a driving pattern. I highly recommended Rigid for off-road lighting. I have no personal experience with the others, and I'm sure they are good options as well.

Here's a picture of mine on the beach with the headlights and Duallies on. Not a great pic, but it sort of illustrates how the area around the truck is lit up.

I have no experience with diode; but Rigid and Baja are both excellent.

Side by side, typically Baja outperforms Rigid; but both perform great, and unless you're side by side directly comparing in person, you'd likely never know what you were missing. If you do go Baja, and want them for ditch lights (actually pointed out towards the sides), I highly recommend the wide cornering pattern.

I personally have only used Baja Designs. Absolutely love the look and output of these lights!! I have the Baja Designs XL Sport Amber Wide Cornering Ditch Lights and have had zero problems with them. I believe Rago Fabrication is running a Black Friday special on Baja Designs lights.

    Them's fightin' words! :fistbump:

I have heard good things about BD, though.

I went with Rigid because they had more output than anything else at the time.

There was a time long ago on a night run that we stopped off in an open area and was able to do some comparison.

First person had an Amazon special 50" light bar and pod lights; he turned them on, and at first it seemed impressive, until we noticed that the throw wasn't that great (actually downright sucked), and the light had hotspots/washed out areas. I mean sure there was a ton of light, but it was all right front and center instead of thrown down the trail.

Next up, I had a pair of rigid D2's in spot and a pair in flood; that combo alone blew their 50" bar out of the park, like not even close. The throw and width was significantly further, and the light was clean/clear no hotspots.

Then last, third person had all baja, sports in spot and fogs, and a 20" light bar; without even turning the lightbar on, the spots and fogs threw even further out than my rigids. Also clean/clear light.

The best way to describe it as per best of my memory was, the amazon ones had a big blob of light immediately followed by a wall of darkness; with my Rigids, I could just make out where the end of the field was; with the baja, you could clearly see the tree line at the end of the field.

All that long pedantic hogwash being said... the Rigids were impressive, and more than enough light for the average offroad user; and I'd be happy and content with another set of Rigids in a heartbeat (hell, my 20" SR in my bumper now is rigid). But the bajas... (not trying to pick a fight, lol), were indeed better. At least in our little unscientific test.

I don't doubt the BD's are impressive, but it doesn't sound like an apples to apples comparison.

Unfortunately, I don't have any great pictures of what the Duallies really look like. I do have this picture with the Duallies and a 20" SR in my bumper. The treeline is about 500' ahead of the truck.

Besides that, I still can't find anything else with the output of the D-SS pods.
