    I recently bought a 2000 4runner limited 3.4l with “no compression on cylinder 6”.

after my own compression test I read 0 compression on cylinder 3, I then ran a leak down test on cylinder 3 and heard leaky air from the exhaust pipe, and what I don’t want to believe, but some air also sounded like it was coming from the top of the cylinder head through the spark plug hole/ where my test stuff was hooked up to.

So without having torn it apart yet, I was curious on my options

is this reasonable? get this thing delivered, out with the old, in with the new? obviously the jobs not that easy. but just swap the full thing right on out? is that website sketchy?

    any advice is appreciated!!

Given what you've stated, I'd first take the engine apart, see what is bad and then start ordering parts. Along the way you may also want to replace the components of the timing belt and cooling system as well.

Once this weather clears up a bit i’ll be tearing into those heads, but i’ve also got a camera on the way so I can peek into the combustion chamber for a better look at if it’s just the heads or if something has fallen into the cylinder and i’ve got a much bigger job ahead of me than just some heads… i’ll report back when i take a look.
and i’ll be sure to do some maintenance while everything is all taken apart and easy to access, thank you!

I scoped out cylinder 3 and found piece of the exhaust valve broken off with beat up cylinder walls, I couldn’t see the piece in there so I assume it’s been smushed into something, if anybody knows where to buy a good 5vz-fe let me know pls

or i’m open to other options, just might be easiest to plop a new engine in there though
