Excited to see my new 4Runner coming in couple weeks. Drove nothing but Jeep wranglers since 2000. Got new JL Wrangler in 2018. After Jeep lemons and them giving me 2 new ones. Time to move on from the problems. Came to 4Runner cause always liked them and want the reliability after 3 miserable years of problems. Can’t wait see how it goes.

    Welcome to the 4R world.

Little surprised you picked the Limited coming from Wrangler world when there is little more capable 4Runner trims like TRD Offroad.

If would highly appreciate if you could share your experience why your JL was a lemon? (No I'm not a Jeep hater to troll on a Jeep forum, I genuinely want to know real info since my close friend (working over 10year in same company) just got a new JL and want to be prepared.)

Greetings from Minnesota. I moved to my current 2000 SR5 from the world of early Ford Bronco’s. (1976 Bronco). Besides regular maintenance, I’ve only had to replace a starter. Welcome to the world of reliability.

The problems that I had with both my JL were electrical. They updated all kinds of things with JL. Looks are better but they still are lost on the new electrical stuff. Both would tell me about to stall shut off Jeep now. And many other things. Both in shop over 100 days trying to figure out. So you see why I want reliability.

It's a no brainer but my daughter has been buggin me for one for about 1.5 years. I've been putting it in the back burner (excuse was parts shortage and covid LoL) giving her excuses. I've never owned one nor had any plans on getting one till she asked. I've told her many times, these things will break and when they do, it's $$$. She's seen one break (my buddy's) down while out with me on the trails. She loves the looks of them so I thought about leasing one for 2-3 years just so she can drive it and in that time it'll still be under warranty.

BTW, welcome!! A few advice "don't ask what the biggest size tires you can fit on a stock 4runner or what lift to get"... the patrol policing here is real. They'll run you outta here! :D

    Very strange..:D
I have 2.5 front & 1.5 rear running 285/70R17 with stock UCA. It was much easier than my TRD not having to cut the bumper, just pushed the fender liner forward..:D

    Oh noo..:(:(
We take the Jeep solo on technical trails (just me, my buddy & Jeep). I hope we don't have to call our wifes to pick us to go home if the jeep dies..:(

Welcome - great decision. I went from Jeep ownership for 30+ years (CJ through JK with all the Wranglers in between), to a 4Runner in 2019. I wanted a smooth ride, off-road capability, and legendary reliability. Wouldn't go back.
