First new Lexus GX rolling off the line, as well as the last old one

I am so glad that Lexus abandoned that huge front grille design. The grille probably killed ten's of thousands of sales.

 

Big grill never bothered me. Kinda like that our current GX styling gets the hate from the internet.

 

That new GX does indeed look really good. Personally, I concur with Post #3 above.

 

I could definitely get on board with that style. Makes me a little hopeful for 6 Gen....

 

And crushed the spirit of many more, as they wondered for for a decade if the next model refresh would see the cow catcher go away. Instead, it got progressively bigger until the whole front end became cow catcher.

The cow-catcher theme is still present on the new one, but it’s tasteful, and it goes well with the rest of the vehicles lines. Unfortunately, the fact that it’s still present means that in 3 or 4 years time, they’ll make it bigger when they do the refresh. Our children’s children will know no other way

BMW is a huge abuser of the cow catcher grille. I miss the old school "double kidney" (but small) grille.

 

The I4 grill had me worried for a spell on what BMW was planning.

 

Nice! I'm #10 for a Overtrail + in incognito with black roof and black interior at Longo also.

Count me as one of those. I was looking at trading in my truck that I don't use much anymore on a 23 GX460, the missus took one look and said no.

So that was that.

 

Exterior design is constantly evolving among all automakers. Toyota is still leading the industry, with competitors doing things like this:

 

I’ll give you that for looking worse than toyotas. The bmw design shows the designers view the cow catcher the normal state of how a car should look. You can tell because they treating it as the blank canvas, onto which they add their design! The cow-catcher is the blank slate! We’re doomed!

 

Mazda does it better than Toyota. They do it by saying, "What would Alfa Romeo do?"

Thus, the Miata...but more recently, the CX-5 looks like a ripoff of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio despite them both premiering at the same auto show.

Cracks me up how a bunch of offroaders are pissed off a Lexus looks like a Lexus.......

The LC Prado looks like it got beat up with a Jesus stick. Which for offroading is fine, I like it, but the Prado look was never going to be a Lexus look.

BTW, GX sales flick everybody off. It sells well with their target audience.
