6th gen builds are looking great. Didn't take much, just 35's, level kit and some sweet wheels. Toyota definitely prioritized clearance on the TNGA-F vehicles.

I have to see that color in person, I love green but it doesn't really do anything for me in the pics.

Allowing room for larger tires is the best thing they did on this. I would run a 34x10.50 equivalent if I had one.

I don't know man, I feel like between the huge tires and weight from sliders and other shit, that is a lot for a 4cyl. Maybe I'll be wrong but I def have my concerns

My eyes aren't what they used to be but I certainly could live with this hue, but it would be good if they offered the 3rd gen green again...

it is. They should have done it sometime during the 5th gen's 15 year run.

    Alas, better late than never.

6th gen size growth over 5th gen is like 5th gen over 3rd gen.

I’ve said before I love the smaller 1-3gen 4R, old Tundras, and little tacos. Even the badges are small. So good

Black hood looks stupid to me. I would at least have it painted to match. But then it will still have all those meaningless lines / humps/ bumps.

CF hood would look better matched to Undergorund.

Toyota's selection of available 5th gen colors has always been pedestrian at best.

For the last 15 years they've had the standard Rental Car Silver Metallic, Rental Car Blue Metallic, Rental Car Red Metallic, Rental Car Grey Metallic, Rental Car White Metallic, and Black.

On top of the standard rental car colors they introduce a Pro color annually which falls into one of two categories.....

    1) Industrial/Public School Bathroom: cement, quicksand, lunar rock, army green, terra, underground, etc.

or 2) Polarizing/Mountain Dew Commercial: voodoo blue, inferno, lime rush, solar octane etc.

I'm not saying that I don't like a few of the Pro colors, I'm just saying overall the color palette was pretty lacking by most standards.

I predict the power will be there.

What will be a wild card is if the additional rotational weight and contact patch end up requiring the motor to stay boosted more often, how fuel economy will be impacted. It is a well known fact that with motors like EcoBoost from Ford, when there is more than steady cruising load on the motor such as towing, hauling, etc the MPG take a sizeable hit.

Definitely. The mpgs will suck with any additional weight or load. The Tacoma and LC have already proved that.

I’m thinking such a small turbo means it will be constantly under boost with weight or with big tires.

It will also be interesting to see how the new 8speed transmission will respond to 35s. Will it need a re-gear? Will it blow out clutch bands between gears? Will it upshift to 8th on the highway or stay or 5th, 6th or 7th? So many questions.

And there is another variable with big tires. Is the extra electric boost from the hybrid system necessary to turn 35s reliably (or sufficiently, for that matter). Will the hybrid battery deplete on longer trips if its constantly pushing electric boost?

Same concerns in this vid with the tacoma. He says to maintain power it spends all its time in boost. Not necessarily bad if it was meant to handle it but it seems like Toyota's new high efficiency turbo engines are not even close to the same reliability as the 1JZ/2JZ.

Don't they also now have a smaller gas tank ... making it seem even sketchier to me to go too far off road with heavy weight

Yes it’s 4 gallons smaller. Seems like a big mistake and annoyance.
