Falken Wildpeak A/T4W

Anyone running these yet?

I was checking some out a local shop. Here are my observations:

Pros:
Mean looking tire. Aggressive sidewall design.
Very thick sidewall/ strong construction.
Lots of siping. Looks like it will work well in wet conditions.
285/70/17 is a true 33" tire.

Cons:
Very heavy tire.
New tire with limited user reviews.

I'm sure they'll be just as good as the AT3, I just can't seem to stomach the weight given there's a lot of other equivalent, lighter, options now days that are just as good looking/performing.

Yea my current Nitto RG's are 58 lbs and I thought that was a heavy tire.
Same size and rating for the AT4's are 65 lbs!

But looking at the tires I can see why.
Them sidewalls are like Arbys... They've got the BEEF

 

I might just embrace it... regear to 4.88s and run the 285/75/17
34.1"x11.6" @ 68 lbs

 

Yeah, the weight increase is enough for me to consider something else when my AT3Ws wear out.

 

That's why I went with Toyo Open Country RT Trail tires, lighter tire then a lot of them out there.

They look good, but it's crazy that Falken figured out a way to make them even heavier.
