    Hi all,

We have some post lights on columns in our front yard. They are all wired to a switch in the house. Noticed one of the lights stopped working and figured it was the bulb. Took a working bulb and tried it in that light- no go. Took the bulb from the suspect light and put it in one of the other lights and it worked. Must be the light.

Took a volt meter and measured the voltage in the bulb's socket. 60v ac (?) Thought maybe that was just the way they worked so I measured another one. 120v.

Removed the light fixture from the column and measured the voltage coming up into the light. 120v. hmmm. Removed the wire nuts and made sure everything looked ok and rewired everything. Still 60v at the bulb's socket.

There is a light sensor inside the light. It does function (60v on, 0v off) when I shine a light on it while measuring the voltage.

Not sure where to go from here except to replace the fixture which, of course is no longer being sold so that would mean replacing all 4 post fixtures and 3 house/ wall fixtures.

Figured I'd post here in case someone has any ideas.

Took another stab at it today. I removed the light sensor and wired the light without it. 120v at the bulb's socket. All is well. Put it all back together and called it a day. We don't use the light sensors anway (we turn the lights on manually and have a switch with a built in timer).
