Does anyone know why the Tacoma sounds so much better than the runner off the lot ? Why dont they both sound the same. Just kinda odd when o drive around town and stock Tacoma’s sound better

If you're talking about a new generation Tacoma, it has the 3.5 6 cyl so it's a different engine completely.

Yes I totally undertsand both vehicles have different engines and therefore sounds but it seems to have more of a growl to it than my 2020 4Runner or

The growl drowns out the screaming kids.
The quieter 4R helps put them to sleep.

But as to why, different motors and noise suppression devices.

Don't blame me, I voted for Trump.
I had a 2019 Tacoma w/3.5, exhaust sound is probably because you have to rev it up to get it to go. Worst engine/trans combo I've ever had, which is why I now have a 2021 4R.
