Has anyone used the latest jbl head unit with CarPlay from 2020+ with older 2015 jbl amplifier?

situation: I have got my latest head unit, but don’t have an amp yet. I have to try out the head unit to make sure it works as I have purchased it from
Ebay. Want to make sure if i try the head unit out, it doesn’t destroy anything.

    could anyone share inputs?

To use the JBL head unit, you will have to purchase the JBL factory amp also to make it work. Also, the wiring harness costs over $600 to make the whole thing work.

If your car already has JBL, you would still need to get the new JBL amp.

In short, if you can return it, return it and get a non JBL unit. That is plug and play and the harness runs about $200.
If your car already had JBL, you are out of luck.

My question is a little different. I am getting a latest jbl amp in mail. But I need to test the latest jbl head unit asap that I already received. I do have the adapter aswell. Hence asking if I plugin the latest jbl head unit with the adapter, will it affect my speaker system?

From what I understand the latest JBL headunit ( 2020+) will not work unless the JBL amp is also hooked.
