Engine wire harness '96 interchangeable???

I have a 96 4Runner SR5 4x4 manual 3.4l v6 that the engine wire harness caught fire and needing to replace. Can anyone tell me if this harness is interchangeable with other year 4runners as I am having a terrible time finding???

Should be. Probably nearly the same to anything that used the 3400. Highlanders, Tacomas too.

 

Sorry this has me a bit stressed. Don't want to buy parts that won't work especially if I can't return them. Is there somewhere I can compare and confirm that the harness I find will work in mine?

 

Go to PARTSOUQ.com and put in your vin. Find your harness and the part number for it. Go to an online TOYOTA parts dealer and search for that harness (I use McGeorge Toyota online parts). Look and see what TOYOTA says that harness fits across all vehicles.

From there go to https://www.car-part.com/ and search for those vehicles to see if the part is available locally to you.
