Engine swap question

Has anyone ever swapped the 3vz for something other than an LS or 5vz. Would a v8 gx engine fit. Just maybe trying to find something cheaper then a 5vz

 

I read somewhere of a person dropping in the 4.7 V8 from the 4th gen into a 2nd gen. Took a lot of modifying and electrical work to get it all in place but it can be done. Not sure if the 5.7 would even fit as the engine bay is much smaller than anything that has the 5.7. The 3.4 swap would be much easier.
