I am working on a 1995 3vz engine swap into my 88' 4runner and am trying to figure out the EGR electrical connection. The connector on the engine harness has a plastic cap on it that shorts the pins. Is this indeed the engine wire harness connector for the EGR valve? I also have a single pin connector on the harness in close proximity to this connector but I think that's for the AC compressor.

I'm not sure about the wiring...but I would plug off the vacuum lead to the EGR and see how it runs first...just a thought. I am not familiar with the V6 like I am the 22 RE's but on my 22 RE it runs soooo much better with the EGR plugged off but not disconnected.

My 88 3VZE for reference. It does not have the wire from egr. The harness is just capped with the cap in your second pic. The egr does not have a through hole for that harness, it seems to be possibly just a well for a temp sensor.
