I would like user experience with the ECGS bushing. Getting my lift installation done and I would like information on any problems or concerns others may have had. I'm especially interested in long term experience, max mileage, etc.
    Thanks in advance.

The ECGS bushing only fixes that vibrating/humming noise when you drive around 40-50mph, if you even get it. Could get it just as a precautionary. Within your cv axle/front diff, toyota decided to use a needle bearing which is susceptible to wear. The ECGS is a solid bushing that solves this issue. I would recommend replacing the bearing with ECGS.

I recently replaced mine at 100k miles about earlier this year. Put 20k since, no issues, no humming, no sounds or any worry about any other parts failing. The old bearing and seal was shot when i did mine, i was lucky enough i had no other issues due to the old bearing.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've researched the piss out of it and am quite aware of the needle bearing problem. Just wanting real user experience from this forum.
    Thanks again.

I have no personal review to share, but will say the only negative reviews I've seen over the years with the ECGS bushing is installation issues by the owner - either having trouble getting the needle bearing out, or installing the bushing incorrectly (too deep, not deep enough). I've not seen one review mentioning issues with the bushing once installed correctly.

I put it in a 2016 4Runner back in 2017 when I lifted. That was 85k miles ago. Just now thought about it again.

Sold 4Runner to a friend, just got back last week from Colorado with him and that 4Runner. We didn't talk about it.

In other words, set it and forget it. Did it to about 5 or so vehicles. 4Runners, Tacomas....never an issue.

I’ve done it to my Tacoma years ago. No problems. When my 4Runner gets lifted I’ll do it then too. When you buy it, buy the new gasket. If youre doing the work yourself, you can find the installation tool for free in local threads on here & on Tacoma world

I did it on my 4R and noticed some improvement but there is still a little shimmy every now and then and at the same 50 to 60mph. I am resigned to the fact that this is the way it will be and won't mess with anything else. The road forced balancing so helped. I also have a tacoma 2017 and I have the same vibration.

This is the OEM bushing....I am not sure anymore if I created a problem by swapping for the ECGS, but I had to try it out and see. Guys...we have really put in a lot of effort and research onto this shimmy thing. We can write a dissertation on it with all the stuff we have collected on the forum. I am done with it.
