Have a 2019 SR5 Premium. Going on a trip this fall. We'll be traveling mostly on freeways. We'll have a 120v refrigerator running to keep my insulin. Will the USB actually re-charge a cell phone or simply power it while we are driving

Mine charged but still not as great as using one for the 12V cigarette.

I bought one of these battery pack at the recommendation of my mechanic. He uses this now to jump start cars that come into service. It will charge your cell phone/tablets several times. This one also has a compressor that works great. Its about 2 inches thick maybe but about length/width of my iphone.

So far I like it especially during power outages. Lots of neat products that might otherwise suit you.

I have a wireless CarPlay adapter plugged into the dash USB port so I’ve connected a 3’ USB to Lightning cable connected to the USB port on the back of the center console (back seat port). It charges my iPhone 12 Pro rapidly but I don’t know if power output changed between your 2019 and my 2021. The type and quality of cable you use can also make a difference.

Probably best to try out your own port(s) some time when your phone isn’t charged…

The USB in my '19 doesn't seem to charge my phone. I would use one that plugs into the 12v outlet.

There should be another 12 volt outlet in your console, and also in the rear of the truck. Unless those are options on the off-road. :notsure:

I definitely have one in the back. I/we will be motelling it, so we can always charge the phones at night.

Just tested my Samsung Note10+ 5G using Android Auto with Google maps and music. Stock USB port had enough current to charge my phone.
(screen capture from the video recorded.)

    Starting charge 92% -

Checked after a little, phone was charged 100% -
