Does anyone have a problem with rain obscuring the driver side mirror? It doesn’t happen on the passenger side.
Here is a picture of the side mirrors during a small rain event:

While not too bad in this rain, when it rains hard the mirror is useless.

Just wondering if others have this issue?

Use rain x or wax on all your windows... works wonders

2x on rain-x. I think any car that wipes clear to the driverside will generate exessive water on driver side window

Have been using rain-x for 25 years all good

So I didn’t have the issue on my 2004 4R. So this is new with this gen. Or, at least with my 5th gen. I agree with the wiper issue but I will try with the wipers off. Kind of weird it I have to wax my windows all the time. Living in the PNW that would be a daily event. :).

If you want to try a step above normal Rain X , try the Griots glass sealant.

Interesting. I see your window shields extend down past the plastic piece to which the mirror is attached. Its at the peak of this plastic piece where the water problems starts. I'll try to rain-x or groits, but still a pain in the ass. Nice Rav4 mirror mod.

Where did you find a mirror with the blind spot mirror?

I believe it’s the Rav 4 mirror people swap out.

Funny thing.... its been raining the past week to week and half, so I haven't washed the rig lately. Today I noticed that my mirror wasn't obscured. So the moral of the story, don't wash your rig! (PS Rav4 mirror have been delivered, only waiting on the core for folding mirrors )

The RAV4 mirrors are AWESOME. Best mod I've done. They simply remove all doubt when changing lanes.

It's like that in Vegas and Salt Lake City. The two worst places on my drive to Montana.

I use Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass - I tried Rain-X and was severely disappointed in the longevity of it. I have found that with a once yearly application of G1, the water beads up and just blows off the windows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVJhKFM0qFY is what I experience also. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWTwb2lqmGk for how to apply, or just Google "Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass". I bought the 100ml bottle and that's enough for a lot of window surface area (I've done all windows on 6 vehicles and still have quite a bit remaining).
