Thanks for asking, I'm trying to figure out what year and trim to get. Likely '22-'24. I want to mod, but I'm not a mechanic, nor an electrician, you know? I'm handy, but want to just have fun with it, not have to be working on it constantly.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
You're amongst like minded people. We aren't mechanics or electricians. We're just idiots with some spare cash, dreams and too much time on our hands. You'll never have to work on it to keep it running, but you'll constantly want to upgrade it to look even cooler and meaner.

Some of us even add really HUGE tires and slap an obscene amount of stickers on our rides. But those are the really crazy fuckers. Don't go down that rabbit hole!

Welcome aboard. New (2024) are fairly close to the same price as a slightly used '22 or '23 (if you shop around and are willing to fly out and drive it back, which is what I've done with my last 3 Toyotas) and then you get piece of mind that the previous owner/s didn't abuse or poorly mod it. If you decide to go the used route, I highly recommend purchasing a purely stock 4runner, without any mods.

I think my biggest issue is that I'm kind of bougie and want to have dual AC and some of the nicer things. However, that's really helpful information. I have been looking mostly at the TRD pro, but I think it might be overkill for me. Not sure yet. But that's why I'm here! So thanks for sharing that.

There's only two trims with the dual AC - PRO and Limited. If the PRO is overkill...

If you really want a Pro then get it, but don’t wait to long cuz the gen 5 is coming to an end. Welcome aboard.

If you want a PRO, you should hurry up...
around DFW there are very few PRO's not already pre sold before they hit the lot
and most dealers around here are adding 'market adjustments' to the PRO
The limiteds have the biggest discounts here...

here is a video, 4 months old, so prices, options, and supply have changed
but its a good place to start

    good luck, and take pictures
