My 1997 is running strong, but all those little parts are starting to wear. The front door latches, especially, are wearing out - you really have to slam the doors to get them to latch.

I see on eBay that there are latches that are listed as 1999-2000 compatible. Did they really change the latches in 1999, or can I get these, knowing they will fit my 1997?

Otherwise, I am having trouble finding latches. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

What I often do is look on Toyota's part site for the part number for both years. (or partsouq.com...they have pictures of many parts)

I google both part numbers (or as many as there have been revisions) and see if the parts are either close enough or the same.

I have also found that Car companies sometimes update the part number for a newer revision and apply it only to later years even though originally the part fit across all years.

Partsouq will also list alternative part numbers from other car brands that part fits.

That's the long way to do it...maybe someone knows for sure...and can just answer.
