    Hi
I have found that my door control fucntion from the key fob has stopped working entirely, at the same time as the electric windows
I checked all fuses. I looked at the door locker box which looked pretty shitting and a lot of cables in not great condition. The unit wasn't even bolted to the chassis of the car which suggests that the PO have buggered about with it.

    please help me diagnose.

    1. If the door control stops working, does this automatically cut the power window function? (I heard they were linked somehow)

    2. Does anyone know how this unit is earthed?

    Any help at all appreciated.

    many thanks

The fact that you have a key fob that locks and unlocks your 4Runner suggests that it was added aftermarket by the PO. I don't know of any 1991's that had a power key to lock and unlock the doors. Our's just uses a key in the lock to lock and unlock. Sounds like a lot of work, for little benefit. Sorry I can't be of more help.
