Does SR5 4x4 have the same ground clearance as the TRD offroad?

    the only thing i could find online is that “all 4WD 4runners have 9.6 inches of ground clearance”. is that true?? . i always though trd’s have more ground clearance?

    All the same. The Off-Road model gives you extra options like a locking rear diff but otherwise the basic driveline/undercarriage is identical.

    Ground clearance is measured from the ground to the bottom of the rear differential/axle. This is the same on all 4runners and only varies due to tire size.

    Interesting. I thought any lowest point not limited to rear diff.

    I bet they are same for all 4WD models. For 5th gens 2WD are 9.0in clearance vs 4WD are 9.6in clearance.
    Its interesting for comparison 4WD 4th gen 4Runner only have 8.3in and from Lexus world GX460 is just 8.1in.

    Considering this is a 4runner forum, the lowest part of a 4runner is the bottom of the rear diff.

    It's not an interesting comparison given both the gx460 and 4th gen 4runner have smaller tire diameters stock than the 5th gen. The 2wd ground clearance is probably exactly the same as the 4wd. Toyota published specifications on ground clearance have been wrong in the past. Look at the 2nd gen tundra for example
