What’s up y’all. I am excited and ready to upgrade my suspension. After much research my final 2 are dobinsons or Eibach stage 2 kit. Both are available at about $1250, I have read some upgrade UCA now some wait and upgrade later. I plan on upgrading UCA with suspension so I am thinking $2000 all in. I have read good comments and reviews on both setups and I don’t feel like I can go wrong. Any opinions from anyone with experience with these setups is greatly appreciated. Also open to other suggestions. Thanks. This is my daily driver, I try to hit the trails a few times a month. I think I would want the more “off-road” capable setup, but if I’m being honest it is 70/80 percent street.

FWIW I'll be soon taking a 2" Dobinson setup to Moab for the 3rd time in a year. Did Fins and Things, Hell's Revenge, Poison Spider and Top-of-the-World, the suspension did fine. Rides on the road nicely, too. I still have the factory UCA's.
I can't speak for the Eibach, but I do like the Dobinson.

I've been rocking Eibach Stage 2s for 30k. I'm on the 250lb rear adjustable kit as well. I consider Eibach to have some of the highest quality race kits, but they haven't gone all in on off-road setups just yet.

If you're more of a 90/10 kit, get the Stage 2s with your weight choice in the back. The added weight matched with the correct springs in the rear, with the adjustability really make it a great pair.

At slow speeds I'd argue most setups are equal, but speed is another beast. Because of the valving, if you're speed running trails this isn't the setup. That would probably be the MRR Dobinsons.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I went with the Eibach stage 2R. While It didn't require UCA'a, I went ahead and installed the Dobinsons. They correct 3 degrees or castor and are simple and reliable. You don't have to worry about frequent maintenance with them and they can be rebuilt. I'm very pleased with this combination.

You should see if there are any local Toyota groups near you, and go to one of their meetups. There's sure to be a variety of 4Runners with different suspensions on them so you can go for a drive. Many people don't realize just how different a suspension can feel, and it varies by the person feeling it too.

Christopher - wondering if you ever made a decision on this and what your experience has been. I am considering these two options myself right now. Thanks.

I'll tell you that I have the Eibach Stage 1 truck lift. Love it. also got it on sale. To be honest with myself, I'm not heading to trails an such, but i do take the Family Camping and i like to have a nice looking rig. Still satisfied with my choice.

I have the Stage 2R and absolutely love it. It performs better on road with less nose dive and doesn't feel harsh at all. Off road it performed and I expected/hoped. It's also nice that the height can be adjusted without eomoving from the 4Runner or even lifting it.

    I'd go with Dobinson's personally. UCA's included.

No personal experience with them but I hear great things from the people that go that route.
When my OME setup need replacement I will be going with the Dobinson's long travel IMS kit.

Thanks Rob. Yes, that's what I really like about the stage 2 kit, you can fine tune the front ride height without removal.

I got the eibach stage 2r, satisfied with them. Around town they feel similar to stock, just a tad stiffer. Ride quality is subjective. Just got back from a small trip, 6hr total and it did well, they are pretty comfortable. My wife and kids don’t notice a difference between these vs stock.

Mine is a daily also with similar usage. After a ton of research I was stuck between these 2 choices also. I decided to go with Eibach stage 1 with dobinson uca’s. My truck is in the shop now I pick it up tomorrow I’ll report back once I put some mileage on it. But don’t think you could go wrong either way

Would you say the on-road ride is better overall than stock? I want to get rid of the nose dive and floaty ride don't want a jarring ride.

I got the Eibach stage 1 with dobinson uca’s installed earlier this week. Also went up to 285s and threw .75 cornfed spacers in the rear for a little rake. I couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. I only driven 200 miles so this is an initial review but feels more planted, eliminated nose dive, corners better and feels stiffer in a good way.
