Do you like it? If so what brand? I need one as I moved to place with cold winters. Any insight would be appreciated.

The best time to buy one is in February or March. Look on your local classified at that time for all of the New Year's resolution impulse buyers looking to dump them.

Have had no issues, Knock on wood, to date.

Proform Pro 5000. 20" wide x 6ft long surface and does 3 degree decline. Love it but their subscription price is ridiculous. No longer use the subscription. Just watch videos while I'm using it.

Also a Bowflex and Sunny (Peloton type) cycle. Don't really use the bike but the treadmill and bowflex gets used a lot

How cold? I live in New England, I'll run down to about 25°. Takes a little bit of getting used to, but once you do it's nice. Just gotta watch out for ice.

I never have much luck being consistent on the treadmill, I find being on one such a miserable experience.

I’m looking too. Difficult for my wife to get out for a real walk. Want something very durable and heavy duty, and simple.

Yes, Horizon fitness. 3.5 HP and elevation. Use it for running several times a week. I went this route because of the ratings from tubeyou vids... And there's no monthly subscription or apps.

Lol. Miserable to me is Houston in the Summer. Would rather be on the treadmill than outside in 100+ high himidity weather

I just hate walking or running in the same place and not going anywhere. I feel like I run so much slower on the treadmill than I do outside.

Though, TrueTexas has a point, I definitely would rather be on the treadmill when it's that hot!

Lowest is mid teens, but average I would say is low 20s. I am fine with cold, just have not done much outdoors with ice.

Seems impossible to find a modest priced treadmill that isn't junk or the company has poor customer service. I was looking at Sole. Seems love/hate. Many have dead treadmills right out of the box. Then it takes weeks to months for parts to arrive, then weeks for tech to come out.

I agree with approach but wont it be slightly later....I imagine people give up on their resolution after atleast 6-8 months no?

    (just for laughs)

Forget a treadmill. Get a German Shepherd. Full body workout, walking exercise your lower body and pulling the leash exercise your upper body. Staying alert for on coming or behind dogs, bikes, etc will exercise your eyes, ears and brain. :drunk:

Thanks. It gets good reviews. So imagine two parents in their 60s with a 20-year-old child with Down Syndrome who is quite averse to activity. Is your Nordic pleasant and easy to use? Easy to place a tablet or something on board so that the user can 'walk through' an environment?

Hey nice ya it's a decently priced, slick looking treadmill that uses hydraulic arms to easily fold up right where it stands.
That's great I have a 30 year old cousin with downs, we're very close.
As for the iPad, yes you can. But also, this treadmill has an onboard screen that plays videos of outdoor trails and things as you are exercising.

Thanks for the info. Does the onboard screen require the purchase or subscription to certain apps? Or can you get and use your own?

So I don't think you need to purchase anything, screen comes loaded with all that in the software, maybe there's a payment option for like extra features and maps. I'd have to ask my wife.
Just throw ur iPad up on the ledge it has below the screen and ignore the screen :)

Never had a treadmill, but had an elliptical for a couple years. I always felt weird running on it. I wanted something else so we bought a Concept 2 rower. So far I like using it.

I have one I bought used in 2012 for $300 Cdn, a TRUE 400 (image left). I’m not a runner, but use it walk for warm ups and on cardio days with Apple Fitness. Never had an issue with it, but follow a couple of YouTube vids for maintenance. My wife is a runner, and has a middle to top Norditrack one (image middle) that she bought new in 2015 $3K Cdn. That thing has taken a beating as her and her daughter run on it for up to 5-10 kms at a time 3-5 days a week, up till 2 yrs ago (daughter away at university). My wife still uses it twice a week, split with elliptical but is with a running group now, rain or shine or snow. Also been good, but I maintain it as well. Track will need replacing on that one soon. She let the subscription run out on it years ago, but uses apple fitness app, and I have set up two monitors running off the same Apple TV box.

That's good. Sadly modern treadmills-made in the last few years-are no where near as robust as they once were.

Depends on how far you plan on running daily. We bought a sears treadmill in 1999 it lasted two days. It couldn't handle the weight of person running and would hesitate a split second and you could feel it. My wife who weighs 100lbs could feel it, I was 180 at that time. We than bought a true runners treadmill Precor expensive it’s never stop working. My wife does about 6 miles day, everyday. She trained for marathons on it. New York, Boston, Philadelphia and several others. The twenty four years we’ve been married we’ve had only two Precor treadmills. Only ones I would buy.

I was in the fitness industry for 30 years. True, Landice, Cybex, Precor-(no longer make home treadmills) were some of the best ($3k-8k).

If you need a hook up let me know where you are located, i have dealers that sell Matrix and Horizon which are good options and have more price options as well as service.
