Hello all - My headlights are incredibly dim, and after checking fuse box, it appears that I am missing a fuse. What are your thoughts? LMK / thx

    Oooh look, another mod.....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong (I usually am), but if you're missing a fuse, then the lights wouldn't work at all. If you're missing a fuse or a blew a fuse, the lights wouldn't go dim.

These are the reasons a headlight would start to go dim:

Your issue is probably #1 on that list. The bulb is going out.

Yeah, I would say you're missing a 10A fuse. But, I believe that the fuse missing is on the high beam circuit. Are you running around with just the high beams on? If so, you will be pushing light further down the road, and with only one functioning, it's going to appear dim. Either way, replace the fuse first. See if that corrects your problem.

You beat me to it. A blown or missing fuse will not lead to dim headlights. It will lead to no headlights.

I'd vote for a bad ground, a connection going bad or a bulb going bad.

It doesn’t look like your fuses actually match the diagram.

Look at the next row over to see what I mean.

I was confused at first also, but then I put both pictures side by side, and they do line up. You'll note the "140A" on the left picture and how it lines up with the right picture.

Just in case you haven’t, also check whether they’re aimed right. Last time I got a lift installed (different car) I asked that the headlights be adjusted accordingly and the shop just aimed them down as far as they would go so I had to do it myself anyway.

Turn your headlights on, walk in front of the vehicle, look at driver’s side headlight. If it’s off, it’s because that’s the fuse you’re missing in the pictures. If it’s on, you have some messed up wiring

Except it looks like the 30 amp fuse is missing in the row to the right of the row that everyone is focusing on.

Dim headlight Do this first. It took me a while to figure out why my headlights were so dim, many suggest new bulbs... Go to the inner fenders and grind the ground contacts and where it contacts on BOTH sides. Each headlight assembly has a ground connection. Use dielectric grease to keep corrosion away.

    This.

Dim halogen headlights are usually caused by a faulty ground wire.
