    Whew. Dodged a huge bullet

Ive been hearing a slight groan periodically from the front. Ive spent hours upon hours trying to figure out the noise to no avail. I chalked it up to its just a slight groan every so often and its probably the tires. Had some time this week so I decided to have toyota look at it following a post I read here about a TSB 0075-23 that described what I was hearing to a "T".

Toyota just called and said yes, you need a new differential as described it the TSB and a new passenger wheel bearing. Differential is $4,228 and the wheel bearing is $1,006. By the grace of god, it is 100% covered by the 7/100,000 certified warranty. WHEW!

If you're hearing an occasional groan coming from the front. Take a look at this TSB and get your car in for an inspection. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10245450-9999.pdf

Im in shock though at what the dealership wanted for the wheel bearing. The wheel bearing hub is $128 from toyota. If I was going to have to pay this myself, I would have bought the part and installed it. The differential though is outside my mechanical experience.

Any modifications lift/bigger tires? Seems getting warranty support is rolling the dice dealer by dealer once not stock.

Yes to modifications - I have the eibach leveling kit & toyo open country AT3s 285/70/17s. I was absolutely nervous about them saying the lift kit or tires but given this TSB is just a known problem regardless of lift/ no lift, the service advisor approved it. I was prepared to do the wheel bearing myself as I thought for sure they would blame it on tires or lift but they didnt. Both the diff and bearing were 100% covered for parts and labor. Id like to give a shout out to this community for educating me on this TSB. Saved me $5,000+ THANK YOU
