Desperate to Sell

I’m the new guy here looking for help.

I have joined this group hoping to get some expert advice.

I need to sell my 2002 Limited 4Runner. I have posted this on craigslist and marketplace but I got very little response. I had the price too high, I think.

This 4Runner has 245,000 miles. I know that is high mileage but this thing runs and drives like it did 22 years ago. It is due for a new timing belt and rear brakes. It has new front brakes and new-ish tires. It has a little tear in the driver’s seat but all-in-all this is a very clean and well maintained Toyota 4Runner.

What would be a realistic asking price and where would be the best place to advertise???

This, and lots of pics of the underside. Rust scares off more people than anything on these. A clean(ish) frame does just the opposite.

 

With out more info, 8500 seems to be what I find online. But seriously, 250k on it, it’s not going to be something folks are rushing to buy.

 

Maybe sell it for $3000? It's got a lot of miles so the majority are not going to take into account its a Toyota 4Runner and can go well passed 300k. And this is no matter how good it looks.

You get the right person they will know it's well worth over 8k. But that takes time.

Want a quick price, sell to Carana.

 

I would wager that no one is buying it because it's due for $2k or so worth of work?

 

Price sells. Lower the price until someone bites. Other options: For sale sign in window with phone number, park it on busy street. Cargurus. Carmax. Local newspaper. Carvana. Truck trader. Trade it in at dealership. Welcome to the forum!
