Has anyone put together a delivery checklist for new 4Runners? I'm thinking (way) ahead to delivery day, trying to put together a list of things I want to check before I accept a new 4Runner. I'm going to be buying out of state so I'll be setting up for the road trip home as well as checking for any damage, inoperative items, etc.

What would you make a point of checking before signing on the dotted line?

My dealer had a standard delivery checklist they had me sign bit May have actually been a Toyota document. Somehow tire pressure was still around 45 psi and even higher on the spare.

Get plenty of rest the night before and don't rush through the process. Plan an extra day or two, in case they need to fix a few things and get a hotel if needed.

If you're going to get PPF or a full detail/ ceramic, have them leave all of the exterior and interior shipping protection on. Also, bring a wide roll of blue painter's tape for the bumper and rockers. Make sure that they don't run it through the swirl car wash machine.

Do the inspection before signing, so you can add it to the "we owe"/"due bill". Most of this is done with the PDI, but sometimes you get lazy techs.

Do a thorough walk-around for any exterior defects or damage. Make sure that you are under good lighting and take your time. Have them move it into the service drive if needed.
Check all of the exterior lights.
Check the interior for any defects or damage.
Check all of the interior electronics, lights, power locks, power windows, power mirrors radio, backup cam, MTM cam, power seats, heated steering wheel/seats, horn, signals, steering controls, wipers, USB ports, rear ac power plug, moonroof, vanity mirrors, rear dimming mirror, etc.
Check all of the fluids and air filter under the hood.
Have them double-check the air pressure and torque on your wheels/tires. Make sure that you have your wheel lock key if applicable. Check for a spare tire and tire-changing tools. A lot tech can do this in 10 minutes.
Test drive the car for a few miles and make sure that nothing feels out of place. Take it on the freeway to check for the 4Runner wobble. Test the cruise control, lane depart warning, BSM, 4WD system, etc.
All new 4Runners should come with a rear cargo net and first aid kit.

I'm pretty sure that I missed a lot of items and others will chime in. You are buying from a good dealer and sales guy, so there shouldn't be any issues.

When I took delivery my tires were at 55 psi and my emergency brake had never been adjusted.
