Finally got my 4runner offroad today. My dash now sounds like a loose box of plastic screws and like rubber running together. It’s coming from what seems the windshield area. Has anyone else had this problem? I had a problem before but Toyota “fixed” it. However it’s back with a vengeance. It sounds like the windshield is running the plastic molding? Idk.

I have been chasing a rattle that is getting worse by the day. It is coming from the inside the dash by the windshield by the light sensor. I am going to completely remove my dash and see what the hell it is. Im guessing the addition of a much bigger sub hasn't helped the situation. This is the last of my rattles after completely sound deadening the interior of my rig, including the headliner. I will take pics of the removal.
I have previously removed everything but the dash top piece. Allot of work but I cant deal with it any longer.

While you are there add some sound deadening to the dash. I did that with my Rubicon and it was one of the quietest and least rattling vehicle I've ever owned. My theory is it added some extra weight to the plastic.
