I just finished up my version of a sleeping platform for my 4Runner and I wanted to share my ideas.

I used these 4Runner forums to research others' builds, but never really found what I was looking for. I wanted something comfortable for myself to use on solo trips, but also gave me extra storage.

This is what I came up with.

Nicely done! I finished my platform and will need to share photos at some point.

Very well done project, John Denver.

My mindless approach to having a flat sleeping surface was to get 2 inch thick insulfoam insulation at Home Depot and have it cut down to 33.5x43 inches and put that down in the back of the 4R. It weighs nothing and is not compressible and takes up little space in the truck or garage.

I should add that it is a good idea to cover the edges with duct tape so pieces of foam don't break off.
