I'm trying to discern if my rig has the Connected Remote Start available. Either way, I want to explore the aftermarket options. I don't think I have the Connected option available, but I don't know how to confirm.

Lock button 3 times. Hold down on 3rd push. You'll Hear a beep and the power turn on. If not no remote start.

If you have the a 20-23 and have the JBL audio system you have The Connected Services iOS and Android app remote start, plus remote start with your key fob. If you don't, you have great options for and aftermarket add-on. My 22 Limited has the JBL and Connected Services app start and fob start. My 21 Venture doesn't, but I added the Accessorides remote start for Gen 5 4R's and haven't looked back. The Accesorides system has been flawless. I installed it about a year ago. You'll find multiple threads here about the Accesorides remote starter. Good luck!!!

Our 22 venza has remote start with app. No remote start on the fob.

I've had accessorides remote start on the last 4 trucks. Theirs is awesome. Waiting for the venza to come out.

Thanks peeps. I don't have the remote start. :( I tried the three presses and the only response was the parking lights flashed a few times. No engine start. Bummer. Seems like it should have been an easy programing thing for Toyota to include. Push button start and all. I'll be checking out the Accessorides remote start next.

Only the Pros and Limited in the US have it. 12 volt solutions is a good alternative but the engine will shut off when you open the door if you have push button start.

I chose the Accessoride system. Just ordered it tonight. I hope it's here by the morning. :)

I think you'll be real happy with the Accessorides system. Lots of us here have added it and I think it's working well for just about all of us. FWIW, Whippersnapper0 above notes that the engine will shut off when you open the door if you have push button start and use the system made by 12 Volt Solutions. He's correct and actually, the engine will shut off when you open the door no matter what system you have, including the factory system on the Limited and Pro. I also have a 22 Limited with the factory system and the engine shuts off when the door is opened. Same with the Accessorides system, or any system. That functionality is built into the PCM for some reason. I don't like that, but it is what it is.

I'll be installing my system on Saturday after it arrives. :) Can't wait.

I actually like the shut-off feature. If someone hacks the system and opens the door, they can drive away, albeit without the fob, but if they are hackers, they'll find a way to bypass it, or they'll just part out the vehicle. I do some traveling (don't we all) and I can't always choose the most premier neighborhoods to travel or lodge in. A locked vehicle without a running engine is always less of a target for thieves, unless you breakdown on a New York City highway and leave your vehicle as you look for help.

Not to thread jack....But after you install the aftermarket remote start can you then also start the car with the app? Will a start icon appear on the app (I know thats a long shot...)

No. They use their own app.

The OEM remote start must still be problematic.... As Toyota wouldn't implemented across its latest 2023 T4R.
    Just a hunch.

I've had multiple accessorides, never any issues. They are what used to be Code Alarm company in the 90s. Awesome customer service if you have a question or concern.
N2Designs are not going to be any worse performance wise.

The big difference would be that Accessorides offers long range antennas and fobs and also smart app start. N2 i think only has smart app starting. Maybe other differences, don't know.

Very nice thread. Looks like "Accessorides" have lot of options and seems just plug and play? No wire cutting needed?

Mine have always been fully plug and play.

Well, Nissan Titan had a wire to splice into the tpms. Nothing on Toyota in my experience.

I'm sure there have been photos and/or videos posted of the project from start to finish, but I'll be creating some of my own. I might post here or on YouTube.

I got it installed in less than an hour. I made a couple videos that I thought might help where some others fell a little short.
1.) I've got an airbag module under the glove box that I had to partially remove. I undid the bolts on the left side of the metal bracket holding it on before I could move it and access the lower left bolt of the glove box. 2.) I released the small connector on the remote start assembly so I didn't have to push the large connector from the left to the right under the HVAC equip. The connector behind the left side of the glove box was the biggest obstacle. I had to use my trim tool to release the plug snap. Then I had to grip it tight with two fingers to pull it out. Many hours working in cockpits helped with this process. Once I had the new plug in place, getting all the loose wires secured was easy. 3.) The left side of the lower airbag module has a flimsy plastic piece that should not be used to pry on. Use a trim tool on the upper edge of the module. 4.) Almost forgot--I had panel under the glove box that keeps things clean. It was easy to snap out and put back in. 5.) Keep in mind the final route of all wire bundles behind the steering wheel. It's too easy to get excited because of how easy it is. Don't get ahead of yourself. I took video and not pictures, so if I load images here, I'll have to take stills from my videos.
