Huskertrucker over there. Havent pulled the trigger but looking to get on the waitlist in the next month or so. Have been lurking the hell out of this site and thought I better sign up if I have questions.
I especially like how you never have to go more than 2 threads without catching a "noob here, how big of tires can I stuff in with a hockey puck lift?" Super helpful :D

Welcome to the family. Over the last 22 years, I've gone 4Runner-->Tacoma-->Tacoma-->4Runner. I actually miss my Tacos & am seriously considering going back to a 3rd gen once the prices come down again. Ideally I'd have both, for they are the best vehicles I have ever owned. Enjoy & happy new year.

I love my truck. Honestly the best vehicle I've ever had and has been single-guy/hunter's dream rig. But now for a family of 4, its just punching out of its weight class. I've come to terms with the switch, now it's just coming to terms with current market rates, and deciding if its worth selling private or just trading in.

Welcome to the forum from Wisconsin!

The 4Runner is definitely the better option for transporting full size people in the back seat. :)

In 2019 when I decided to switch, I sold my 2013 Tacoma to a TW member. He was looking for a truck, was local, and loved mine. It worked out great all around.

@glwood54 That would be great! I need to search and be comfortable with that kind of cash though. I've only ever sold an old beater for <2k. I'd be worried meeting somebody for $22-24k unless there's some way to involve a bank or something

The guy who bought mine then set it all up with his credit union. My truck was paid off, so he arranged a loan with them, we met at his CU, and after signing all the paperwork, I went home with a certified check, he with the truck. All told, a painless $25k transaction.

I also sold a Jeep I had at the time for $18k cash, so there was my 4R purchase money, with a bit left over.
