Apologies guys. Newer to owning a Toyota. I bought my 22 SR5 from the dealership that the GM was driving. They said it’s certified for 7/100,000. I’m confused though because a new car powertrain is 5/60,000. Is a certified used car powertrain warranty longer than a new car?

It can be, you’ll have to consult the specifics you get from the dealer to know exactly what they mean.

Manufacturer CPO often comes with extra warranty on top plus price to compensate but “certified” can mean anything including whatever the dealer put together themselves.

Agree with above. But most new powertrain is 5/60 to agree with you. The question you need to ask is whether it run concurrent or extended. CPO or " gold" as it's called now. Is 7/100 on the powertrain only.

So if it only gives 2 extra years, is it worth anything really?

Only if you need to use it.

When I bought my 2024 Limited with only 1031 miles with the CPO Gold coverage from a Toyota dealership, Toyota Corporate sent me a letter that provided documentation of the additional coverage details beyond the remainder of the original factory warranty.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
According to Toyota's website, the full original warranty transfers to you, the 2nd owner.

If the dealership is choosing to extend that warranty for free, take it!

Too poor to buy anything now
You really have to think before you agree to any of those little warranty packages the dealer's closing guy throws out at you. I was offered 3 years of full maintenance services for $200. He concurred that it wasn't 3 additional years. Considering you get 2 years included with the purchase, that's a $200 oil change.

Verify if it is a Toyota 7 year 100,000 mile extended service agreement (warranty).
If Toyota you will receive a document that gives lists of covered and non-covered components. It will also be in the Toyota data base uner your VIN so all dealers can look it up.
I used my Platinum Toyota SA for a new tranny.
