Recently bought 2023 4R Limited. First vehicle with a moonroof I have owned. Any suggestions on how to properly maintain a moonroof (cleaning, seal lubrication, etc.). Special precautions on threat of hail or high pressure car wash? Whatever your experience has taught you....thanks!

I've never done anything special with the moonroof for the vehicles I've owned and have never had an issue.

However, I've seen several threads here about the drain lines getting clogged and pushing water into the cabin. Using some weed whacker line to fish through them and clean them out is on my to-do list. I will have to look at other threads as to where they are located at the bottom because I've read it can be easier to go bottom-up.

There are 4 from what I remember; two front and two back. I think the rears come out at the rear wheel wells. I think the fronts have some sort of filter on the end and I can't figure out why. I may remove mine unless someone knows what purpose they serve

Thanks for the drain line info. I'll do some looking and clear out at some frequency.

Quoting from a different thread - I'd like to hear more about how this is applied. On both the inner and outer seal surfaces?

Put a little bit on a towel/rag and slowly (cannot stress, a little goes a long way) work it in. Usually on the sunroof seal, I use a good silicone spray on a towel the same way due to the tilting. Door seals are super easy to do. Easily a two beer operation in regards to time spent if you do it ...patiently.
