I came out to the garage this morning and heard a relatively loud electronic buzzing noise coming from the undercarriage of the 4R. When I pressed the start button to get to the accessory on status and then pressed the start button a third time to turn it off, the buzzing stopped.

Ive heard this before and it seems to occur when I turn off the vehicle while all the windows are down and the sunroof left open.

Anyone know what this might be?

Additionally, I've also noticed that after starting up the 4R, when I pull out of my driveway while turning the steering wheel or out of a parking spot I will hear what sounds like an electronic actuator sound coming from the driver's side footwell, as in up behind the gas/brake pedals.

All normal sounds. The EVAP system tests itself after a few hours. It's mentioned in the manual.

The "buzz" after moving is a master cylinder/abs test.

Just what he said. It’s in your owners manual.

There is a pump that runs for a few seconds when you shut off the engine. It's an emissions device and it's normal.

Also, the fuel system will purge pressure a few hours after you shut the vehicle off. It can run for a few minutes and should sound like it's coming from the gas tank.

    Edit: I type too slow.:D

My 2006 Tacoma does this as well. It's not new for Toyotas, but is a definite quirk that caught me off guard when I first got it too :)
