    Hi guys,

4Runner rookie. Considering buying a 2010 SR5 premium from northern CT.

My main concern is rust. I snapped a few photos when I saw it the other day.

This was before I watched YouTube on the issue so didn’t really know what I was looking for.

Can anyone tell me if this looks bad?

    TY!

Keep moving. Toyota has a history of rust. Travel to Maryland and south to find one.

Gotchu. Thanks. I might. So torn. Done a bunch of research. It’s the bracket for the panhard bar. It’s part of the rear chassis. Rest of frame looks good and car is clean so I’m annoyed since everything else looks good.

Took and edited some better photos. I think and want to think it’s surface rust and I can scrape and seal it.

Could metal welder fabricator strengthen for fix this?

Here are pics. Included at end example of clean version. Looks like a weld sea, in the middle of the bracket which is where my for sale is getting bubbling and flaking.

But with that said I'm with @5point9limited, keep looking. I sent 40+ years of my life in VT and now live in the Southwest and I absolutely hate rust.

Awesome find. Thank you. Argh. You guys are not telling me what I want to hear. But you’re telling me what I need to hear.

I don’t mean to mooch off your knowledge, but I’ve got about 25 hours into research at this point and would like an opinion.

How bad rust is this scale of 1-10 for 2010 4Runners ?
