    Hello All,
i am working on my kids’ 98 4runner replacing the connector to the headlight switch. I have the new connector and have repinned all but terminals #9 & # 10. Because, you see, 1 is a white wire w black stripe and 1 is a brown wire with (looks like) orange stripe. I am 90% sure wb goes to #9 and bo goes to #10 but that 10% worries me. 90980-11671 is the new connector. I am hoping someone may be able to confirm the correct terminals for those two pins.
    Thank you

Are you dealing with daytime running lights or no daytime running lights?

I'm seeing White with Black Stripe is pin 16. Can't seem to find a Brown w/Orange Stripe.

Are you sure you have the orientation correct? Unfortunately, I am going by the 2002 wiring diagram but most wires are usually the same across all the years.

This is only one spot in the schematic showing 6 of the pins and their colors.

Does this look like the connector? Your part number isn't quite the same for a 2002 "90980-11672".

this 1998 4runner does not have day time running lights. In my web searches I have found images of connectors with the white/black wire but have not found any brown/orange but that is what I have. The C13 is very similar but the old connector and the new toyota provided OEM replacement connector(HSA 11671) are the same and vary from C13 by the #3 terminal being small and the #6 terminal being large.HSA 1671.png

What state\country are you from? Canada is different.

I found a 1998 schematic and it doesn't show that type of connector either. Also pin 10 is not connected to anything.

Here are the connections for 1998 that I could find:

I'm afraid none of this is helping.

I appreciate the feedback negusm! It's that pesky #9 & 10 I need to locate. VIN lookup says manuf in Japan, no mention of canadian involvement that I can find.

All 4Runners are manufactured in Japan. But differently for certain markets.

I also searched the entire schematic (both 2002 and 1998) and cannot find a BR-O wire anywhere. So I have no idea what the disconnect is. Maybe drop by a dealer and see if they can pull up something on their computers?

Otherwise, you'll just have to chase it down through the wiring harness and see where the other ends terminate. If I knew where they wind up, maybe I could figure it out.

Good to know, but I'm not sure where to find intended market info. Appreciate you taking the time to help.
