Dang that is a nice looking bumper. went with Green Lane plus the wings--lighter and cheaper but I get to be nervous about the aluminum winch base if I ever pull anything.

Greenlane does make good stuff, I really like their skids. A lot of their products are more overland style rather that rock crawler, which honestly I appreciate. I think aluminum is fine for witching. Extreme angles is when it gets sketchy.

I do wish more companies made the hybrid style, specifically with the steel winch cradle and aluminum shell. Feels like it's best of both worlds.

    Post up your bumper!

I absolutely will once it shows up. Was undecided on the bumper, but as soon as the Greenlane skids arrived I pulled the trigger. They're extremely well made. I'll keep that advice about angles in mind.

FedEx did ding me a week later with a customs bill, but it was pretty close to what the TX sales tax would have been.

Sweet look forward to it. One negative about Greenlane is the dang lack of actual pictures of their products installed.

Weird, I never got charged any kind of customs. Wonder if it's a state thing.

About that lack of photos--you're supposed to make a leap of faith cut based on the poor pics, then once you have room to stick it in place use the wing itself to find where to trim.

    PXL_20231126_151829818.jpg

My initial cut was super conservative based on the instructions but nope; I almost ruined the bumper skin. A set of reference measurements to get you close would have prevented that.

Their video on Tacoma wings seems to purposely avoid showing the sides, but it looks a lot like the cut was botched and went too low.

@kojak Greenlane is slick eh. but isn't that the worst, that leap of faith cut!
I remember being quite nervous before Dremel cutting bumper. but I spent less $ tho, just stage 2 clearance on stock bumper

I'm still working on it! The wings angle inwards, so the "guess, cut, mount, mark, remove, trim" method has to be repeated several times. They mention adjusting the wing but that's not possible either (without maybe adding shims) as it's constrained in all directions.

    PXL_20231126_224538492.jpg
    PXL_20231126_223509537.jpg

Ran out of time; it's still pinching so I'll keep trimming. Driver's side is nearly finished.

    PXL_20231126_224641961.MP.jpg

Had to bend the hood latch bracket a little but I got the winch mounted. Skid fits just fine.

    PXL_20231126_190421780.jpg

You're supposed to leave a gap and use edge trim, but I got kinda lucky with this cut so I'm rolling with it.

What are you using to cut the plastic?

Mostly a vibrating multi tool with the round head, and a hackzall for the corners. A utility knife makes the cleanest cut (no sanding needed) but it's tricky to keep it straight.

For sure. I used the ocillating tool too, worked pretty good. Sounds like you're using the right tools to get the job done
