Hopefully this is where I put this post…I have a 2000 4runner that I moved with from CA to the midwest. Soon after I got here I was leaking quite a bit of oil. And not long after I was told by a mechanic my engine block had a crack in it and it was failing. And about right after that it never started again. So now I got a real heavy paper weight. I’ve been quite lazy trying to sell it. And now would rather try and get it back on the road. Its been sitting about a year. Fully neglected. My small brain was just thinking hopefully I could buy a replacement engine, at a pick n pull or similar. But I’m open to any and all advice. Just looking for about the cheapest option. I’ll also add, it was only a 4cyl base model. I was slightly hoping I could swap it with a 6cyl with minimal issues? I know one is chain and the other is belt. Not sure if it’d match with the trasmission.
