I'm new to this group. So, I'm sure this question has been asked before.
My son has a 2010 4Runner 2 wheel drive. A friend has a 2021 4Runner 4x4 factory wheels they are selling. Is the bolt pattern the same?

I would bet it is. All of the 4×4's are 6 × 139.7 mm, or 5.5".

You can use your vehicle information to shop wheels on some wheel and tire websites. They will know what your bolt pattern is.

Yes they are the same. This shows up to 2014.
