Blue Loctite is a Medium strength thread lock retainer and is good for the size bolts that are used for Sliders and BTW more is NOT better with Loctite I really do know because I work for the manufacture of Loctite.

Thank you. I have usually used just enough for 1/4 to 1/2 of the threads. Good to know.

I have a follow up question I hope you folks can help me with. Looking at my frame there are several plastic hole covers. Some round and some rectangle. Should I remove them? They are raised from the frame so will they just get crushed upon tightening all the bolts? Thanks

Yes, you will need to remove those plastic pieces for the sliders to sit flush on the frame.

    Tip:
Spray the frame with bedliner where the sliders will bolt on

I’ll probably do some kind of rust preventative next time I remove my sliders for touch up.

Nearly every external bolt I touch either gets loctite or antisieze. Antisieze if it’s a bolt that may need to be removed again soon (like skid plate or suspension), loctite for most everything else.

    wut.

I've been told specifically to NOT do that, by the manufacturer of my sliders (C4 Fabrication). Bedliner is thick and won't allow the sliders to sit flush against the frame.

Do you guys not remove your sliders annually for clean up and touch up (of the frame)?

I believe what you want to put on your frame before bolting up the sliders is Fluid Film.

Agree with bedliner not being a good idea... before install, I do clean the area, and hit it with a fresh coat of rattle can clear; but anything that adds bulk or could cause gaps, or allow the slider to move at the mounts, would be a bad idea.

I do not remove my sliders annually; but I will occasionally re-spray clear or touch up the edges/contact points. I only remove if I notice any flaking or significant surface rust appearing near contact points, or signs of rust staining on the frame immediately below (or if the slider needs a significant strip/repaint).

My sliders are linex'ed and bloted to frame no issues

@ruiz4251 What sliders do you have? It probably depends on the sliders, to an extent. My sliders wrap around the frame.. I don't think I could even get the bolts in the holes if there was bedliner applied.

Regardless, I would wager that you wouldn't really want any bedliner there, at least if it's "thick," because any movement between the slider and the frame, where they meet, would be very bad for the bolts that hold them together. But if the liner isn't to thick, and isn't flexible, then whatever I guess lol.. seems to be working for ya! It's not like every bolt is critical, anyway. I have many holding each slider in place.. just look for rust and check for tightness periodically.

IMO, locktite is not necessary as long as appropriate hardware is used.

Gotcha, thanks. Yeah, those only bolt to the "face" of the frame, so bedliner application wouldn't be as much of an issue. That style would also be easier to maintain as you can see more of the frame for rust inspection without removing the sliders.

I don't remember which YouTuber but there was a video when he removed the sliders there were rust on the frame. Even though I sprayed rust proofing I will remove the sliders and see if there's any rust. So imo it's not good tighten forever..

I just installed my RCI sliders. I wiped on fluid film to the frame and slider. I also removed the plastic frame inserts to ensure a flush mount. I did not, nor would I advise, spraying on bed liner if you have KDSS. The hydraulic lines, while not bolted to the frame, are very tight to the frame. It took me and a friend to mount the driver side due to the KDSS lines. When the frame of the slider goes underneath the KDSS lines, the lines are even more tight. I would not risk putting more tension on those lines by adding bed liner. It could over stress the KDSS lines and lead to a failure. I don't think thread locker is necessary, as the pressure on the bolt is such that I don't think they would ever back out. But anti-sieze could be a good idea, especially if you live where they salt roads in the winter.
