Just wondering if any one is running this kit Rock auto sells, and if they can tell me if the Coils that this kit comes with are heavier rated than Oem..

Looking at reducing some of the nose dive when braking, and also have the v8 so slightly heavier in the front to start with.... Currently have kyb gas adjust coil overs and Im not that impressed with them.

    Thanks for any info

Maybe take a screenshot of the kit you saw. Or a part number so others can give an opinion.

Years ago, when I had my 06 4Runner V8, I started with KYB shocks with stock springs and a spacer lift. Absolutely hated the way it drove. Took about 2 months and I switched to Bilstein 5100s on all 4 corners and the upgraded Toyota FJ Springs. Was like night and day.

From the part number you posted. It looks like the 6112 Bilsteins. Those (or the 5100s) will reduce the nose dive. However, I would do the rears as well.

The 6112 bilsteins you posted are an awesome set up. They are height adjustable which means you can level the truck out or even lift the front higher. The front lift is adjustable on them from 0 inches to 2 or 2.5 inches.

6112 is slight overkill if you don't do much off roading. They are a very beefy front shock.

I had a V8 4runner and my set up was Bilstein 5100 shocks on all 4 corners. With OME front and rear coil springs for a 2" lift. The truck handled amazingly well and I highly recommend it.

If you aren't looking for a lift, or just want to lift the front a small amount, I would recommend 5100 shocks. Paired with the appropriate OME coil spring. It will eliminate your nose dive and be slightly cheaper than the 6112 set up.

    Thanks for the replies fellas!
So I am thinking i will probably go with the kit as it seems far less expensive than buying seperate parts and putting it together. In the rear I have 5100's and unfortunately i bought Moog springs(too soft imo) so thinking of replacing with the bilstein 400# constant rate rear coils.. kinda torn as they have 3 options, but think the extra load rate would help the front wandering crap i get with even 150# of gear in the back ..

Happy to have a 1.5-2" lift..

Do the 600# coils give a harsh ride for normal driving? I dont see a big heavy bumper, constant roof weight etc in your pic.. which i also wont for 90% of my driving..

Thansk for the reply. Back to my original question if the "Bilstein levelling kit" had heavier than oem springs, I cant find info stating so, so may have to peice it together. Are your 600# coils Old man Emu brand?

the 600’s are from Bilstein. It was a kit less the top hat. I reused my originals as rhey only had 9000 miles on them

@RepentOrPerish if you are in rhe Houston area, I have the springs that come off my 06 v8 at 50k miles. You can have them to see if they are an improvement over the Moog Springs.

If so, the rears can be combined with some spacers to get the lift you are looking for.
