what is the best option for a roof rack? something cost effective and preferably one that would make mounting a ladder easy as well.

Well...how much are you looking to spend? How long are you willing to wait for? Are you willing to drill into your roof?

I have an ARB touring rack that works with the Gobi ladder. Fit kit and rack cost about $840 and it did not require drilling into the roof and installation took about an hour.

I have a Prinsu, however, their spacers apparently have an issue with damaging your roof seam. I am making my own spacers to replace them. Basically I am copying the Front Runner rack mounting to use with the Prinsu. I wouldn't say that there is a "BEST" rack because it comes down to preference, function, mounting, design and most importantly USE. For example, If you only need a basket for gear, you can get away with the stock rack. I like the Prinsu look but Front Runners mounting. I know the Baja ladder works with the Prinsu, they are CLOSE but it fits. There is a thread looking to see compatibility between SSO and Gobi, I dont think that has been answered completely yet. Do you have more info on what you are going to use the rack for?

We have the rhino rack on factory side rails (I believe there's a weight limit of like 250lbs which isn't great if I'm being honest). It was a little pricey and so are their accessories... That being said I wanted something very light weight and only plan on carrying luggage up top.

I personally DON'T recommend with RTT.

That's what I went with. The new aluminum version. Hope I made a good choice, don't have it yet. The SSO was very close also but LFD is close by and I saved on shipping etc

    Best aftermarket rack...anything but Gobi:stirthepot:

No reason man, just personal and was just messing around. It's a good rack. The company itself is not as good as the rack they produce. All my a'hole opinion

Hope you’re prepared to wait. Took them 9 months to get a ladder to me. It’s a great product but their CS and response time is atrocious. My experience with them was enough for me not not consider them for anything else

They quoted me 16 weeks from payment which was yesterday. I think they walk to the mine and extract the iron ore with a spoon first then smelt it which is why it takes so long.

Let us now how it goes. I think (based on my experience and some others) that’s going to be cutting it really close

I noticed on the Gobi website that they include the ladder on most of their racks and that the shipping is included in the price . Not sure how that works out as far as pricing on racks from other companies .

I ordered a Prinsu full length for mine. It’s the lowest profile that I’ve found that will allow me to clear into my office building parking structure. Should be here in a couple of weeks. I’ll install and post up some photos and measurements for those that are following this thread.

Agree. Customer service is key. It took them a month to respond to my inquiry so I went elsewhere.
